I wrote this song in celebration of the DC National Guard's 547th Transportation Co. and the 104th Maintenance Detachment's return home in 2010. When President Obama announced that our troops would be returning home, I pulled the song out of my computer, added some pictures from Google and decided to release it.

The emotional toll of war is enormous.  I teach children how to identify, express and manage their feelings. I can't imagine the FEELINGS that our service men and women face daily when they return from war. Many times I've heard them say that they don't get the help that they need emotionally.

I have visited the web-sites of many Welcome Home organizations and most of them have a DONATE button. I am donating this song to our troops.  When being of service...we do what we can. If you enjoy the song, download it from iTunes.

I WILL NOT KEEP ANY OF THE PROCEEDS. The song is my gift to the troops coming home. I believe that we all can do something wonderful for the men and woman who have served our county. In addition, this project is a wonderful lesson and give back for your children as well.  Get them involved by having them download the song and letting them pay for it.  A learning opportunity about service that they can understand and feel good about!

Each week we will update the site to let you know how many downloads we have. In addition, I have used the images from Google Search for the video. If you know the name of someone in an image, please send me his or her story so I can add it to this site. This is our site and our gift to the troops.

The President said that he would bring the troops home by the end of the year. On December 31, 2011 we will officially end the download of the song for free.

Let's see how many folks we can get to support our troops for 99 cents from now until then. And by the way, the download of the song is tax deductible.

For New Year's this year my church will sing Welcome Home as we bring in the New Year! I hope that you will do the same.

It will be my JOY RISING if we are able to provide JOY RISING to such deserving organizations.
